Bacon, Pear, and Raspberry Grilled Cheese

10 reviews / 5 average

Bjork just officially declared this the best sandwich I’ve ever made.

And we officially have a cute – ? -Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

Let’s talk about bacon and cheeeeeese.

And fresh, crispy soft pear slices.  And sweet raspberry preserves.  With more bacon and more cheese.  Melted.  Grilled with butter.  I knew it was going to be heavenly as soon as I saw the cheese peeking out to say hello.

To that I say hello, cheese.

Please become healthy.

Bjork loved this grilled cheese.  Usually I can get at least 1-2 compliments from a great meal, but this sandwich elicited an excessive amount of compliments.  Like, one compliment after each bite.  Which is really sweet, considering I gave him a sandwich with a few bites already taken out of it.

The bites are all part of the photographic process, you know.

The bottom line here is that whatever you are making for dinner needs to wait until tomorrow.  The bottom line is that you need bacon, cheese, and a shot of raspberry pear sweetness to seal the deal.

So may your holidays be filled with bacon, pear, and raspberry pear grilled cheeses, taking naps (currently happening on the couch behind me…), and cute lil’ Christmas trees on sale for $20.

These are the things bringing us joy this season.

Bacon, Pear, and Raspberry Grilled Cheese

Description

This grilled cheese sandwich is stuffed with bacon, pear slices, and raspberry preserves for a salty-sweet combo that is simple to make and so addicting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices sturdy, grainy wheat bread
  • 3 tablespoons raspberry preserves
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red pear
  • 8 slices cooked bacon
  • 4 slices Muenster cheese
  • 12 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat griddle or panini press to medium-high heat.
  2. Assemble 2 sandwiches in this order: bread, 1 1/2 tbs. preserves, pear, 4 slices bacon, 2 slices cheese, bread.
  3. Spread butter on top and bottom of sandwich and grill for 4-8 minutes, or until cheese is melted and top is golden brown.

Notes

My slices of bacon were pretty small and thin, which is why I used 4 on each sandwich (gulp). I think 2 regular slices per sandwich would be plenty.

PS.  Have you seen this Christmas catalog?  It’s my favorite.

This year I challenge you to purchase a needed item, donate to another great organization that you care about, or become a foster friend to a Filipino sweetheart for 25$/month.

It’s as feel-good as grilled cheese.  I promise.

Digging this combo! I recently made basil grilled cheese… yum! So comforting.

Mmmm! If only my basil plant were still alive. I lost that battle a long time ago. 🙁

It’s almost painful to look at this right now – my stomach is grumbling and I LOVE GRILLED CHEESE! My husband is sort of a hater of fruit in his dinner, but I wonder how he’d respond to this. Bacon and melted cheese make all things acceptable, right? I will be eating this soon, and if he doesn’t eat his, I’ll eat that too!

I know plenty of people who feel that way about fruit in savory things, too. But for those of us who don’t mind a little sweet, it’s perrrfect.

Now I have to to take a stand and say, where’s the christmas tree? 🙂 All that talk about how cute and Charlie Brown it is has me wanting to take a peak! Fruit and cheese together is sooooo good. I can just tell this sandwich is A.mazing.

Well, it kind of looks naked because it’s a bit sparse. But maybe I’ll dress it up a tad more to cover the naked spots and include a picture on Friday. 😉

lol… I asked Bjork if he wanted spinach in his pasta the other day… um, did I even need to ask? Of course not.

Love Compassion, too! I don’t know if I’ve seen their catalog, though. I’ll have to check it out!

I like this combo. I would’ve never thought to pair those together. If it has bacon and cheese I’m always sold on it! If anyone compliments something after each bite it MUST be good. Let’s see if my hubby has the same reaction. hehe

It was kind of an accidental/impromptu combo, but hey, aren’t most things?? 🙂

This was my first venture into the jammy grilled cheeses. Def. not the last, though!

I love pears and apples on grilled cheese, but never thought to add preserves. I will have to give that a try!

    1. Pinch of Yum Logo

Yes – you’ll love it! The bacon gives it just the right amount of salty, too. See you tonight maybe? 🙂

Usually I like white bread for grilled sandwiches, but this one was awesome with that grainy crust.

Hot damn, this sandwich sounds awesome! I love the idea of muenster with raspberry. Pretty much a match made in sandwich heaven. I don’t eat meat so I’m sure it’ll still be tasty even without it. By the way, who’s Bjork? I mean besides the well-know singer from Iceland. Unless that is who you are referring to, in which case would be totally bad a**!
