This week the sun’s been shining.
I’ve been holding babies and not doing my hair.
I’ve been enjoying this new look
and this one too.
I’ve been eating sugar
and trying tom kha with coconut milk and monggo beans
and drinking mochas with tapioca pearls. Weird and wonderful.
I’ve been learning from these bright minds
and learning about wisdom. Proverbs. She Reads Truth. Check it out.
I’ve been receiving weird texts on my Nokia
and checking Pugs of Instagram with my iPhone.
I’ve been trying to fit in with the locals by wearing long sleeves and long pants
but taking pictures of food with a fancy camera is a dead giveaway that I’m un-local.
Restored health, good people, delicious food, and nice sunsets. That’s been life this week.
WOW that’s just amazing. And the babies – awwwww
What an amazing life experience you and Bjork are enjoying! Love seeing your posts and especially the photos (and more especially – the photos of the kids!).
Thanks for all the sharing you are doing – it reminds me to keep all of you in prayer!
LOve reading your posts! Praying you guys continue to experience everything to the fullest!
Yay for Proverbs. I’m doing this SheReadsTruth plan as well, and it’s been great so far–exciting to see you post a picture, too!
Isn’t it crazy how locals in hot hot hot places can wear long pants and sleeves and not bat an eye, meanwhile you’re sweating to death?! same here in Aruba!
and I saw those cookies on the top row of FG for what seemed like 3 days and they’ve been screaming my name!
You guys are amazing…I would love to be there-experiencing everything you guys are! God’s so good!
God Bless,
Bethany<3
Proverbs 3:5-6
It sounds like you and Bjork are having such great experiences – minus the dog/pig thing!!! The kids are beautiful and I love seeing the pictures of you and Bjork interacting with them! What a blessing you must be to them and what a blessing they are to you! Enjoy and savor every moment!
I’ve started reading “7” – your mom had recommended it and you mentioned it on your blog. Interesting and challenging read, for sure. I have to admit I was laughing out loud in a few spots last night and felt the need to explain myself to Brett. 🙂 Good thing he’s a patient and understanding husband who is totally ok with my quirkiness! 🙂
Thanks for sharing your adventures in Cebu! I love reading your blog and seeing all the great photos! keep them coming!
Thanks for sharing a little bit of your life. The picture of Bjorn and the little girl is very sweet. It’s very fun to imagine how the husbands will be when they become dads. Especially when they act so adorable around kids!
Monggo with tom kha…that sounds genius!
Lindsay–

Love it all! Especially the beautifully styled side table on the patio!
Love this!!! Thanks for the peek into your lives! Love and thinking of you! 🙂 (PS Loved that text…still laughing 🙂 )
What a wonderful experience for you and Bjork as well as the kids whose life you’ve touched and will continue to touch over the next year! What you’re doing is fantastic!!! Enjoy!!!
Beautiful, amazing, awesome 🙂
I love that you have a nokia! And is it weird that I want to see that half dog half pig? Not the throwing up part – just the hybrid animal in its form.
I have seriously been looking for this creature whenever I leave our apartment. No such luck yet… only Bjork has had the privilege of seeing this thing.
just found your blog through pinterest and am mamking your chicken tamale pie for dinner tonight. and can i just say..love your blog and you are too cute!!
Wow, thanks Ranee! 🙂
I think my body temp went up 20 or so degrees reading this! It looks sooooo Hot over there, I can’t imagine all the obstacles you are overcoming living over there, I love reading these updates on your blog, very cool! I am over on the West Coast, yes, Pacific NW and we just had our hottest day this summer. I can’t imagine having summer weather year round, I love my 4 seasons! Cheers to you~
I had no idea about PugsofInstagram. Will have to check it out! I should send the @SousPug over your way – he tried to swipe my ice coffee the other day – I’m sure he’d go crazy trying to get at the mocha (or the food you are shooting 🙂 )
I adore POI (pugs of instagram). It’s the funniest thing on my instagram feed. 🙂
Beautiful. You are fitting right in!
This post makes me happy! I know you’ll continue to find joy (and challenges, too) in places you never anticipated! 🙂
It looks like you’ve had a much happier week. Yes the camera can be a bit of a giveaway! Love the kiddo photos.

What an amazing adventure you’re on! I am loving all of the photos.
Just dropping by to say that your blog is always so inspiring and uplifting! I love reading about your new life in Cebu. You and Bjork often have a way of putting things in perspective for me. I’ve also tried many of your recent recipes – the mango chicken salad and the spicy fish taco bowl were just delicious! Thank you for this post.
You are so sweet Leanna! I’m glad you like hearing about our ups and downs on this crazy ride…
