first: time writing a post while connected to the internet from an airplane – like literally from the sky. As in right at this very second I’m literally IN THE SKY. We’re so living in the future.
first: time writing a post from my iphone! WHAT! I feel so modern and sneaky. mobile all the way.
first: big trip where I’ve left both my laptop and my DSLR camera at home. 😱 You don’t even understand. My carry on feels like a dreamy soft pillow – light and free and yayyyy. Thank you iPhone 7 plus for being a phone, camera, and computer.
and most importantly, first: time traveling to Europe with my bae!
Bjork and I are taking the next two weeks to do one of the things we’ve always said we wanted to do but just never took the time to do because life: traveling through Europe.
That little thing called a DUE DATE? BB’s puttin some legit time pressure on those bucket list items. In, like, three seconds there is going to be a huge belly on the scene and then diapers and nurseries and books and school and OMG it’s going to be so great. ❤️
But let’s just go to Europe real quick first.
Our itinerary includes a Viking River Cruise through the southern part of France as well as some off-road adventuring through Switzerland and Germany. We’ll be back in business again in early December, which means we have exactly two weeks dedicated to travel and adventure and bucket-listing.
Since things will be pretty quiet around here for the next week or two, you can catch our Europe updates on my brand new personal Insta account creatively titled @lindsaymostrom. And I’m doing plenty of daily stories from my regular Pinch of Yum insta account.
I hope you all had a great long holiday (those who are in the US) and I’ll see you lovers in two weeks!
Also! if you have recommendations for things to eat and do in Lucerne or Munich or the places in between (we’ll have a rental car and a decent amount of flexibility), please share! The recs we’ve gotten on instagram for Lyon have been 100% fabulous. 💙🇫🇷

Go to Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland if you get the chance, my favorite place in Switzerland! You can easily take the train from Lucerne. Enjoy Europe! Super jealous 😉

In Luzern, try to have lunch at the Old Swiss House near the Lion Monument. The veal schnitzel fixed at your table is world famous.

A day trip to Neuschwanstein castle, outside Munich is a must. And also don’t miss the amazing art museums 😉

If you are able to go to Rothenburg, DO IT. The Käthe Wohlfahrt Gift Express is gorgeous and the Marketplatz is amaaaaazing.
Also, the Watchmen tour, if they still do it, is worth it.

Welcome to Europe! So happy for you guys! That’s an amazing time to visit! You have to try macarons in Lucerne! The best place is right in front of the Old Bridge. And fondue, of course. There is an amazing waterfall Rheinfall on the way to Germany – makes sense to stop by if you travel by car. And in Munich, as others have mentioned: Christmas markets (Kinderpunsch is delicious and alcohol-free! I’m 8 months pregnant, so I know how it feels not being able to drink alcohol), restaurants around Marienplatz and English Garden. Have fun and enjoy your time! If you’ll decide to go to Hamburg for whatever reason, I’d be happy to show you around! 🙂

Enjoy! Love Munich, even tourist beer halls are fun, lots to see and do, if you have a car and time, worth driving east to Salzburg, no more than 2 hours away and its own unique place, plus still easy this time of year, either way have fun!

I lived in Munich for two years and there is plenty of good food available, especially at some of the less touristy Christmas markets. If you like pizza, this little gem is worth a visit http://www.pizzesco.com/ at Rosenheimer Str. 12
81669 München. It can get very busy in the evening so a day visit might be worth it. You can order a metre long pizza with all different (and delicious) toppings, plus you just help yourself to beers form the fridge like an honesty system. The staff are super friendly too (and they all great speak English 🙂 ) Enjoy! Munich is incredible x
