Today is a FIRST EVER in Pinch of Yum history and I’m all 📢📢📢 about it!
We are hiring!
In the official, public, serious way. 😱 Like, you know us. Sooo super serious. The screaming face emoji = dead giveaway to the seriousness of this event.
I guess technically we’ve done this before by offering very part-time positions to family and friends. But today we’re bringing our next job opening to the Pinch of Yum community because a) while it might seem like we mostly just hang out and eat all day (semi-true), there is actually quite a lot of work to be done around here and we could use a few more hands on deck, and b) we believe that the right person for the job is already a part of this little corner of the internet, doing their ultra-organized thing right here in our midst, just waiting to be found and embraced for their awesomeness.
Read the description below, and if this position sounds like the right fit for you, SCORE! Please apply.
And if not, I have a huge favor to ask you in exchange for many more yummy recipes in 2016: will you share this with your friends who are of the friendly, Type-A, ultra-organized personality? The ones that would just so totally thrive in a job like this?
You are just so awesome like that.
Position: Remote Office Manager
Job Description: To help Pinch of Yum run as efficiently as possible
Hours: Starting at 20 hours/week, primarily daytime business hours
Compensation: Dependent on the qualifications of the applicant
Starting Date: Early January 2016
Location: This a 100% remote position. Selfishly, we would love to have someone based in Minneapolis so that we could hang out at the studio and eat chocolate chip cookies together and snuggle with Sage all day every day (!!) but that would just be the icing on the cake. When it really comes down to it, we are just looking for someone who is U.S.-based – other than that, this role is completely location-independent.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Email communication
- Project management
- Scheduling
- Support with hiring
- Invoicing
- Progress tracking
- Shipping
- Customer support
Looking for a Person Who Is:
- A ridiculously good communicator, particularly in writing – this is non-negotiable because this position is remote and strong communication is a must
- Resourceful
- Upbeat
- Organized
- Tech savvy
- A quick learner and do-er

We will close applications on December 22nd, 2015 at 11:59pm CST. This application is now closed.
Dang it, that’s my day job, but I live in the Netherlands T_T. Good luck to whoever gets the job! I’m sure you’d be wonderful bosses.
Thanks Mags!
I was just about to write the same thing! Good luck with finding who you’re looking for 😉
I’m so tempted to apply, but then again, I’m thinking you want to hear and see less of me, not more of me! Seriously, you both know I adore your blog and were partly behind the inspiration for me starting a blog. I make some $$, get lots of free stuff and best still, the hours give me credit to keep my teacher certificate active (just in case you don’t hire me!!)
Okay, I’m going to just peruse the application. You didn’t mention anything about being more fun than a bucket of dead rats and being most excellent at Settlers of Catan?!? All in good time I suppose. xoxoxo. Fun post to read you 2 wonderful people!
Ha! Laura. You’re too funny. 🙂
I so wish I could apply, but unfortunately I’m north of the border! I would LOVE to work for your blog in addition to my current job, but sadly, I cannot due to not being in the US.
If you’re ever looking for someone remotely from Canada, I will definitely throw my hat into the mix. My job for Disney right now is 99.9% organization, documentation, communication and self motivated project management. Organization is definitely my thing. :$
Can’t wait to see more of your recipes for 2016! Hope you both have a very happy holidays and a fantastic new year. 🙂
Ahhh sounds like your experience would have been perfect! I don’t know, we may or may not be hiring again soon… I have a feeling this hiring thing might become addicting. 🙂 Stay tuned!
SO tempted. But my husband may kill me if I add a 3rd job in the mix! I know you guys will find the PERFECT adorable, yet organized and efficient person to join the POY team…you guys have got to be the best bosses eva! 🙂
<3
Waell…. I don’t know about that. 🙂 We try, but we’re learning. But thanks for the vote of confidence!
Just applied! This would truly be my dream job. Although i’m not located in MN, I’m close by in Wisconsin! Cold weather and awesome lake vacations have to make us soul sisters, right?!?
lol, regardless of if I even get an interview I hope you guys find someone who is the perfect fit!
soul sisters indeed! Thanks Crystal – look forward to reading your application!
How’s this for detail-oriented: the email version of the post I received has the application closing date in 2016 instead of 2015 – whoops! I’m glad it’s updated here. Will be applying soon…
I KNOW. Exactly why I need an office manager! I wish I could say it was an intentional slip to see who would notice, but definitely not intentional. 🙂
Applied! This would be an absolute dream! I have been looking for a job to do remotely, I feel like it is fate! Especially since I do all of the requirements at my other job!
Thanks Christine! Looking forward to reading your application!
Darn, this job would be such a dream fit for me, but I am Canadian. Best of luck with finding an awesome American though! 😀
Thank you Kate! We may expand our reach outside the US at some point, so stay tuned. 🙂
I just applied. I love this blog so much and think that you’re just amazing. I’d love to have this job, it’s actually my dream job right now. Regardless of whether I get it, I hope that you find the perfect person. Your blog deserves the best!
Thank you Gina! Appreciate that! Looking forward to reading your application!
I am very interested in this job. I was an internship coordinator for 10 years for the local ABC television station in Houston. I can bring my years of experience along with the best customer service around.
That sounds great Norma. I hope you’ll apply!
Good luck with your job seach!

well love chocolate chip cookies and live in Eagan LOL and right now work part time for Target so Fun Fast and Friendly. l Working 40hrs at the moment for the holiday season but after that gets really slow so that’s when we head to Florida for a month or so. Since your remote guess that works. Not quite sure what all your expectations are but Good luck with the search.
Thanks Ida! 🙂
I really really wish this was open to people outside the US! You guys are my favorite blogging team and I would’ve given anything to be able to work with you. I really hope you find the right person, so that you can make PoY more awesome!
Thank you Richa! I wish we could have left it wide open too… but for now, we’re sticking “local” :)… you know, the 21st century definition of local.
I’m interested but the ‘Tech-savvy” part, not so strong..but very trainable.

Dream job alert???? Can you just hire me once I graduate college? I excel in eating vegetables and falafel and snuggling with dogs.
Hahaha Emilie! You and I both!
Fantastic opportunity for someone! I’ll share this in our private Facebook group.
Awesome! Thanks Donnie – really appreciate that!
I echo everyone’s responses when I say sounds like a dream job! Applied and hoping to hear back. That was coolest job application I’ve ever filled out, BTW! Fingers crossed for me, but I know you’ll find the perfect person to join your team! 🙂
Thanks Courtney! I’m looking forward to reading your application. And isn’t Typeform the coolest?! Way too fun.
This is perfect! I’m going to apply after I drop the little ones off at school 🙂
So great Kristi! Looking forward to reading your application! 🙂
This is fantiastic! I applied, and I’m super excited about the fact that you even posted this job (I’m glad your team is growing, regardless of whether or not I’m the one considered for the position!). However, it worries me slightly that after sending in the application, I received no email confirmation or anything like that whatsoever. Is this normal?
Yes! We opted for the free version of Typeform which does not send email confirmations (in hindsight, I wish we would have done that differently), and while I had initially thought of manually sending confirmation emails, I am finding that to be a little daunting with almost 200 applicants. If you saw the last screen that said “Thanks for submitting” or whatever the message was, then you’re good to go. BUT If you want us to check that yours personally went through, we can do that – just shoot Abby an email at [email protected]. Thanks!
Ok – I would love to apply, but don’t think I’m qualified (I’m just a paralegal at my day job). HOWEVER, I did forward this to a friend of mine whom I think would be a perfect fit for you. She excels in all the areas you need, plus she has awesome marketing skills.
Just had to put a plug in for Nancy Clifford. I know that you will find the perfect fit, just hope it is Nancy (p.s. and now she is also a diehard fan) 🙂
That’s so great! Thanks Beverly – I’ll keep an eye out for her application!
I just applied! This could not come at a better time. I’ve been praying about a possible job change (current elementary teacher here!), so I’m going to go for it and see where it leads! It would be incredible to be part of the Pinch of Yum team! Thank you for opening this up as a remote position! 🙂
Thanks Cortney! Excited to read your application!
I feel like this “next step” in your blogging career deserves a congratulations!
I can’t apply because I already have a full time job that keeps me busy for >40 hours / week plus my blog, but I am just curious: would you look at it as a positive or a negative if an applicant has their own food blog? Just wondering because as you know, food blogs can take up quite a lot of time!!
I hope my application made it to you safe and sound. I’m very excited about the possibility of sharing my love of food, writing, and being Minnesotan with everyone on the POY team and putting it towards this blog’s continued success. Looking forward to hearing from you!
🙂
Ruthie
Another applicant here! I am in California, but that only gives you a reason to visit during your cold winters. Thank you for the opportunity. 🙂
YES! Finally my favorite blog, in my home city, hiring for my dream job! I am so excited to apply for this position. Thanks for the consideration, Lindsay
