This is a breakfast crunchwrap, you guys. It is:

Breakfast Crunchwrap Ingredients: Go.

Ingredients for breakfast crunchwrap.

First up: hashbrowns. I bought a pre-shredded bag and fried them up with lots of seasoning.

Next up: eggs and sausage. Easy.

Do not forget: the cheese.

Let me remind you about my love for V&V Supremo® Chihuahua® Brand Quesadilla Cheese – it’s a very creamy, very smooth, very delicious, traditional Mexican melting cheese. Four words that I really like together. And BONUS: It’s made with REAL ingredients that give you the best authentic taste for all the crunchwrapping that’s about to go down.

We buy the huge bag at Costco, because obviously. But there are plenty of other places to buy it. Use this handy finder to locate the goods. While you’re there, check out their other awesome Mexican-inspired recipes. Yum city.

Breakfast Crunchwrap

  • Author: Lindsay
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 large crunchwraps 1x

Description

Breakfast Crunchwrap! Crispy hashbrowns snuggled up with scrambled eggs and sausage, plus a layer of creamy melted cheese, wrapped in a tortilla and grilled to golden brown perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Hashbrowns

  • 1 lb. hashbrown potatoes
  • 1/4 cup oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning, Southwestern spices, or Cajun spices
  • salt to taste

Crunchwraps

  • 1/2 lb. ground pork sausage
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 7 oz. shredded V&V Supremo® Chihuahua® Brand Quesadilla Cheese (love this for smooth and creamy melting!)
  • 5 burrito-sized flour tortillas

Instructions

  1. Hashbrowns: Heat the oil over medium heat in a large, wide skillet. Working in batches, add hashbrown potatoes in a thin layer, dust with some spices, and press them gently with a spatula. Cook until golden brown and crispy. Flip and repeat. Remove in chunks with a spatula and transfer to a paper towel lined plate. Season with salt.
  2. Sausage and Eggs: Brown the sausage in a large nonstick skillet. When the sausage is cooked, drain off excess oil. Turn the heat down. Add the eggs to the hot pan with the sausage and gently stir around with a spatula until just barely set.
  3. Tortilla Pieces: Lay a large tortilla on a flat surface. Cut into fourths (you’ll use these as a filler piece).
  4. Crunchwrap Time: Layer hashbrowns, sausage and egg mixture, and your V&V Supremo® Chihuahua® Brand Quesadilla Cheese. Place a filler piece of tortilla over the top and fold the edges of the tortilla inwards, one section at a time. It will kind of make a star shape (watch the video for a demo). Place in a hot oiled skillet. Cook for a few minutes on each side until the exterior is firm, crunchy, and golden brown. Cut and serve!

Notes

You can make these ahead and freeze them! Your future self will thank you. When you’re ready to eat them, thaw them out, pan-fry, and voila. Easy brunching on the weekend!

I’ve looked everywhere for that cheese. The handful of places local to me that the website pointed me towards don’t actually carry it and my Costco doesn’t either. I realize other places might have it, so if anyone else in the Pittsburgh area has found it, please tell me! The brand website has sent me on wild goose chases.

        1. Pinch of Yum Logo

Yep, Walmart has that brand of cheese here! My wife and I tried this recipe out, it was fantastic…I would say it even beats the sausage burritos that are our favorites at our local coffee shop!

  2. Pinch of Yum Logo

One of the food trucks at the Baha Mar in the Bahamas makes something similar but with tater tots. I think I ate one every day!

A food truck is a great side hustle because not only is that a good money maker, but you’re actually doing something as a side hustle business and as a beautiful labor of love. Side hustle millionaires who start side hustles with a full-time job appreciate going through the beautiful struggle associated with transitioning from “employee to side hustle millionaire,” because food trucks, blogging, affiliate marketing and selling things online will help anyone achieve financial freedom and do something they truly love to do as a business such as making money selling food out of a food truck. 🙂

Your recipes WITHOUT nutritional information are totally worthless. Dont waste my time

    1. Pinch of Yum Logo

This type of mean-spirited, harsh comment is completely unnecessary. If you don’t like the site, don’t visit it – it’s that simple. If you want nutritional information, purchase a cookbook of recipes that is guaranteed to provide that information; don’t criticize a FREE blog. If a certain recipe doesn’t have nutritional information, you can also easily use the link to plug it into an app like MyFitnessPal and calculate it yourself.

*end rant* (sorry – these types of comments drive me nuts!)

        1. Pinch of Yum Logo

This kind of comment really showcases what is most destructive in the thinking in our times. #1, if someone doesn’tline up with every single thought you yourself have, then be as nasty as possible. #2 that food is only valuable if it fits a certain nutritional fetish, so gimmee the details so I can rule it in or out based only on numerical factoids, no regard for the delish factor included in the decision. And, uh, sorry, but IF you have a specific nutrition need medically, generally it’s best to have a good sense internally what yourunique needs are. For example, I

…oops, hit the post before finishing, ‘scuse me! …to finish….I have issues with cheese and also w the pesticides on conventionally farmed potatoes…also kind of neurotic about veggies in every meal, so, probably when I make these, I’ll be changing some of the ingredients and processes here. Some spinach, swap in turkey sausage, some amazing vegan nut cheese from the selection on my fave food blog….lotsa ways to benefit from the amazing creativity of a post like this without breaking your own dietary needs. Love this concept here! Great video. Yay, POY! Keep it coming, you guys rock.

          2. Pinch of Yum Logo

Wow…imagine being that miserable. It’s just food! On a FREE blog! No need for the hateful comment!

      1. Pinch of Yum Logo

I agree! You are my favorite food idea and recipe sirmte and I have tried so many of your recipes wit TOTAL SUCCESS! YES, sometimes, very rarely, I have to use my own brain and think “outside the box” but I DO HAVE A BRAIN and I am even dairy and gluten-free and I STILL can make your amazing recipes work! Whoever has time for complaining and hostility can GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Leave the rest of us, and ESPECIALLY YOU alone! They obviously have OTHER ISSUES that have NOTHING to do with you or your amazing recipes!! Pay them no mind! They do not even deserve a response, in my opinion! We ALL have to be a little creative and there’s nothing wrong with THAT now IS THERE!! I love reading all of your latest posts and I always look forward to what you post next! Thank you SO MUCH! YOU ARE THE BEST!! 10 PLUS STARS!!💙💙💙💙💙👏👏👏👏

        Katrina,

Don’t bother wasting your breath on that hater. Let that Debbie Downer be your motivation to start your own side hustgle blogging venture and achieve “side hustle millionaire” status using their negativity to fuel your online “$ gUaP $ ability.” 🙂

    2. Pinch of Yum Logo

I believe there are more constructive ways to request nutritional information than to be so rude. There are plenty of calculators available for you to plug in your own brands of the ingredients to see how a recipe shakes out.

    3. Pinch of Yum Logo

I don’t know why anyone would want the nutritional information for this recipe. If you’re counting calories, pork sausage, hash browns, and a flower tortilla are a nonstarter.

I’ll hold off on rating this recipe until I actually make it, but come on: how could this be anything other than 5 stars? This thing looks like heaven.

    4. Pinch of Yum Logo

If you look below the recipe the nutritional information is provided. Just scroll down a little further. Look before you criticize.

Also, you can go on the Weight Watchers website if you’re a member put all the ingredients in and it will give you the number of points.

    5. Pinch of Yum Logo

“Don’t waste my time,” says the person who stopped what they were doing to leave a rude comment…

  4. Pinch of Yum Logo

Absolutely love crunchwraps and quesadillas with sour cream. Just as long as it’s NOT Taco Bell, it’s ALL G 🙂 🙂 D! 😛

  5. Pinch of Yum Logo

This looks and sounds amazing and so easy!
I cannot wait to do this for breakfast tomorrow. Wish I would have thought about it sooner, and just think you don’t even need a plate just a napkin! School breakfast just got so easy!!

  6. Pinch of Yum Logo

Uhhhh, it’s not a crunchwrap without a tostada in there. That’s where the CRUNCH comes from!

That being said, I will be making these (and adding the tostada of course).

  7. Pinch of Yum Logo

This looks so good! I was thinking at first that I wouldn’t be able to fold it…and then watched the video to see how you got it to all stay in place…and neatly. So easy! What was the topping in the video? Looks like guac and salsa? YUM.

  8. Pinch of Yum Logo

Thank you so much Stephanie! Both myself and my son love these crunch wraps! This tastes just the same, without having to spend the extra money! Thanks so much.

  9. Pinch of Yum Logo

If you want to make these in advance, would you freeze them before or after pan frying? Thinking the wrap may not “hold” together if not pan fried first?

    1. Pinch of Yum Logo

      Gabrielle,

Very good question you posed. Have you ever thought of trying to cook anything in Olive Oil to see how well any food sticks together? 🙂

  10. Pinch of Yum Logo

This was fantastic! I’ve made POY’s vegan crunchwrap before, and the idea of another overstuffed and browned tortilla couldn’t be passed up. I did sub diced onion, zucchini, and yellow pepper for the sausage, and used a good quality cheddar that I grated myself. My hub used salsa to dip his, and I used Cholula green pepper hot sauce on mine. Ah-mazing! Thanks for another great recipe!
