She’s Leaving

“Teacher Lindsay, is that your laundry?”

Young girl holding an pan of homemade pizza.

One of my students.

After more than four years, she and her siblings have a forever mom and dad who are on their way to pick her up and take her home. Can you even imagine?

This week we had a girls’ night, just us two. Making cheesy pizzas and no-bake cookies, listening to the High School Musical soundtrack, drinking orange pop, and talking about her life and my laundry.

Woman with young girl.

“Teacher Lindsay, I never get full for no-bake cookies.”

It’s the definition of bittersweet.

Young girls sitting on a fountain ledge.

I love you, J-girl! We’re sure gonna miss you.

Wow…..What an exciting new chapter in her life! I’m sure that she’ll look back often at Teacher Lindsay and that very special girls night that the two of you shared together. I’m sure you’ll cherish those lovely memories too!

How precious you took time for a girls night with her. It must be so exiting for her to be with her forever-family soon!
I love no-bake cookies too (no oven here). Will there be a recipe soon?

I normally don’t comment but I just happen to come across your blog through your carnitas recipe on Pinterest. You’ve already personally touched me, as I was born in Cebu and lived there til I was 5 years old and I still have family living there. I’m 25 years old, working as a L&D RN and happily married to my high school sweetheart, living in Atlanta. What you are doing for these children is so beautiful. I can feel the love you exude for them just by browsing through your photos. If there were only more people like you! God bless you!
