Fabulous! My girls and I just made a batch. So simple, so easy, so perfect. Thank you for sharing!
I love dessert. And there’s only one thing that could make me not like dessert.
It’s spending 3 hours in the kitchen melting, freezing, breaking knives, getting blisters, thawing, spilling, and refreezing the most high maintenance holiday toffee recipe in the world. Yes, it happened, and there’s a bag of broken, messy toffee pieces to show for it.
That’s the last time I’ll be making that one. I draw the line at breaking knives. And/or I need to buy better quality knives.
This is where my bite-sized 5-minute holiday pretzel friends come into the picture.
Wait, did you hear that? That was the sound of the timer going off because 5 minutes is done. Just.like.that.
Seriously. After three hours of putzing with toffee, I think I can handle 5 itty-bitty minutes.
These holiday pretzel bites deserve an award. They are essentially everything good about a Christmas cookie all in one tiny package: sweet, salty, festive-looking, and uber cute! Food crush potential: high.
PrintHoliday Pretzel Bites
- Total Time: 40 minutes
- Yield: 16 1x
Description
These holiday pretzel bites are so easy to make – just pretzels, hershey hugs, and red and green M&Ms. Fun for kids and perfect for gifting.
Ingredients
- 2 bags waffle pretzels (I like the butter flavored ones)
- 2 bags Hershey hugs
- 1 bag Holiday M&M’s
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Fill baking sheet with as many pretzels as you can!
- Unwrap the hugs and place 1 hug on each pretzel.
- Bake at 170 degrees for 4-6 minutes, or until hugs have melted to cover most of the pretzel.
- Remove from oven and gently place an M&M on each pretzel. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to set.
Notes
Don’t go higher than 200 degrees – the hugs will dry out and overbake.
This amount made enough for 4 giftable treat bags!

Speaking of cutesy, hows ’bout our baby tree?
PS. Snowman’s on guard from now until Christmas. So don’t even think about it.
These are so cute! I love the little holiday M&Ms – they make them look so very festive.
These are so festive and fun! Love ’em!
Festive indeed!
Yes please!
Ah! My heart just did a little leap! A friend of mine used to make these every Christmas and I totally forgot about them! They are SO yum, and so simple – and perfect to combat the stress of gift-able goodies for all the special people on our list. I also love that the kids can all-out help with these, and they’ll love it. Thanks for the reminder! Yay! I’m doing a rediculous little happy dance – I feel like I’ve been re-united with a long lost friend!
Lol… that’s so funny, I forgot about them too! until I went searching the internet for the most low maintenance Christmas treat. And then I remembered. 🙂

Candy corn! Love that idea.
I need to make these asap! They look so yummy. I’m afraid I won’t be able to stop after one, though. 🙁
Good news- you can have THREE for less than 100 itty bitty calories! Or 6 for… well, I stopped counting a while ago.
I’ve had these before. They’re awesome!
Thanks for the nice comment Bman. 😉
Is Bman mr. bjork?? 🙂
Pretty sneaky, huh?

So, Lindsay, is this where you’ve been running off to after school??? I went toask you something, and you were GONE!
Very festive… the Hugs stripes add a nice touch! Are you bringing any to work? 🙂
Nope, just running off to pick up Roxanna. 🙂 If there are any left after this weekend I’ll be sure to bring some!
Sometimes I think easy and quick makes for the best treats…there’s time to enjoy them! I’m sorry about the toffee mess…but totally loving these 🙂
The toffee mess is a good reminder to me that complicated is not always better. Exhibit A: these easy holiday snackies!
These are adorable and perfect for a holiday gathering!
Happening this weekend! Hopefully there are still some left for the party….
Just had these! She used small round pretzels and kisses. They filled the space perfectly. Peppermint and caramel kisses, YUM!
Ooh caramel kisses sounds yummy! I know my mom makes these with rolos and pecans, too!
Fabulous! My girls and I just made a batch. So simple, so easy, so perfect. Thank you for sharing!
These are the best to make with kids! Not that I have any, but I have access to a few every now and again. 🙂
Ooo I’m liking the look of these! Chocolate and pretzels are the perfect combo of sweet and salty…party in my mouth. 🙂
They are the perfect combo!
All my favorite candy treats in one neat and colorful package! How cool is that? 😉 I have resolved…dieting postponed till after Christmas. The decision is final. Meantime, I will start making a batch of this Holiday Pretzel Bites! Thanks for the post!
I know. Bummer about the diet. But not really.
Good recovery from the toffee, I would’ve called it a day and missed out on these well-spent 5 minutes!
Hi Lindsay!
Merry Christmas! I haven’t had time lately to keep up with your blog, so I’m having my own “Pinch of Yum” marathon this morning!!
I just tasted a variation of these pretzels bites that were made with the waffle pretzels, Hershey kisses and mint m&ms. They were also very tasty!
Thanks for the great food ideas, the beautiful pictures and your humorous quips!
Melissa
Thanks Melissa! 🙂 My mom makes these same pretzel things with Rolos and pecans. They are delicious. I just ate a handful with some hot chocolate and it was a perfect little snack/dessert!
Ahhh! I make these every year! How fun is that?!?!? I just use gluten free pretzels and it’s ALWAYS a winner, plus they are so cute and festive 🙂
Cute is right! Sadly, I gave most of mine away at a cookie exchange this morning. Hmmph.
I was lokking for something easy and I think I found it!
These are about the easiest thing you can find! 🙂
I just made these and they are DELICIOUS! Thank you for this recipe and Happy Holidays!!
Mmm I have some in the freezer right now that I have as a before/after meal snack. 🙂 Glad you liked them!
