Make Money Blogging

Many food bloggers want to turn their blog into a business that can generate a full-time income. It’s possible (we’re proof of that!), but it takes a lot of hard work, dedication, luck, and diversification.

Check out this free ebook from Food Blogger Pro called “16 Ways to Monetize Your Food Blog.”

Improve Your
Food Photography
Skills

I love taking pictures of food. Seriously. But my food photography journey didn’t start out that way. In fact, I didn’t know how to use a DSLR when I first started Pinch of Yum.

I’ve practiced and learned so much about the art of food photography over the years, and these are the tools I rely on most to achieve tasty food photos.

Use The Right Tools

Thinking of starting your own blog? Yay! You’ve come to the right place.

Here’s a list of some of our go-to recommendations for things like hosting, plugins, themes, and more.

Grow Your Blog Traffic

Have a blog but are looking to grow your audience? It’s a tricky part of the “running a food blog” puzzle.

That said, we’ve found some resources over the years that help get our content in front of the right people (and beyond!). You can check out this list for some recommendations:

Use The Right WordPress Plugins

We’ve built Pinch of Yum on a platform called WordPress, and it’s an easy-to-use, easy-to-customize website creation software.

Plugins give your website additional abilities and capabilities that allow you customize your blog even further. We rely on a few specific plugins to run Pinch of Yum, and we’ve rounded up our favorites here:

Income Reports

In the summer of 2011 we started an experiment called “The Food Blog Money Making Experiment.” The goal of the experiment was to find out if it was possible to create an income from a food blog. As you can see, it is!

Our first report was published in September of 2011, and in that post we made a commitment to share what we were learning through ongoing monthly income reports. The links below are those reports from September 2011 to February 2017. We hope you find them helpful!
